“You just don’t fit in.”

No Martha, you don’t fit in the billionaire’s boys club anymore. None of them could turn a prison sentence into a bold career move, with enough publicity to launch two new highly anticipated shows.

Martha Stewart: Apprentice

Last night was the series premiere of The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. The contestants definitely have a different feel to them than the Donald Trump apprentice candidates. Off the bat they’re much more casual, and seem to be… a bit more rabid. Perhaps it was clever editing, but I haven’t seen much bickering this side of The Real World so early on since well, The Real World. Martha is a woman who’s maintained grace through great public scandal and I don’t see her quick to hire some flashy, fast-talking yes man/woman; which she seems to have gotten a handful of. I’m sure the show will prove quite colorful. In contrast with the other Apprentice, Martha writes a personalized letter to the losing contestant at the end of each show wishing them luck. And I’m sure we’ll soon see t-shirt and coffee mugs emblazoned with her flipside of “You’re fired”, “You just don’t fit in.”

According to Variety.com Martha Stewart’s new syndicated day-time show enjoyed a 41% increase in ratings over the time slot’s previous holder. Congrats Martha, you earned it.
