Good Design: Vonster.com

Vonster.com is one of the best illustration sites I’ve seen. It’s treated in much the same way as Von’s illustrations, colorful, concise, and fun. The use of Flash is subtle and well executed.
The most important information is presented above the fold; the purpose of the site, information about the creator, and a newsletter signup. Scrolling further presents us with a huge array of stock illustration, logos and icon design, as well as some attractive distractions guaranteed to bring repeat visitors. A great detail, often overlooked, is the inclusion of file size for all downloadable goodies.
I look forward to seeing what else Von has up his sleeve.

In some ways, Vonster.com is a prime example of a good and well executed website but my intial thought were that the use of typefaces were over used and in effect made the site look cluttered. The colour scheme is also a little dull and detracts away from the websites focal point which is the feature of the PDF download. I would recommend that the colours are given a fresh and vibrant colour scheme to entice the user and in return keep them entertained, so that they visit the website over and over again.
