Good Design: Wishingline.com

There’s not a whole lot I can say about this site that isn’t obvious. They’ve got one of the best favicons I’ve seen, great use of white space, contact information prominently displayed, and everything you need readily accessible above the fold. The color is handled carefully, as are the subtle reflective effects that on another site might be overkill. Great job Wishingline!

Wishingline is literally one of my favorite sites. It’s just so awesome.

Yeah the only thing I think I would change is the blog, just because it doesn’t really mesh with the rest of the site as nicely. Plus I think people should try to get away from the formats (like this blog, I’m about to redesign) that scream WORDPRESS 1, 2, 3 poof: blog!

This site is based on a contemporary design that tries to incorporate a blogging feature. The structure of the site is indeed quite methodically thought out with the slight drawback of being a little over planned. The white space and minimalistic persona of this site has enabled this design to remain clear and concise. My only criticism is that the site is lacking in visual appeal. Flash for instance would benefit this site and encourage a varied audience. On another note, the navigation is simple and is purposely thought out to encourage a well balanced and functional website.
