Big Changes Afoot
In my sparse postings for the last year I promised a couple things, and I’m not one to go back on my word. The first promise was a site redesign, because the look of this site makes me want to puke. When I threw this site together over one caffeine-fueled weekend two years ago, my intention was just to have a small presence to show potential employers my work. I wanted my homepage to be consistent with the blog, so I was limited by my Wordpress knowledge, which at the time was about zilch. The redesign is under way, and I might just strip out the visuals on this site altogether until it goes up. We should be seeing something within the next month or so, and there will be some cool things for sale to boot.
My second promise was an application I was working on and had been keeping under wraps. ShowMe might never happen. My intention was to have a place bands could post their tours with ease, and people could grab feeds for their metro area. No hassle, never miss a show. But along came Upcoming.org, and it gets the job done, and done well. So do I need create something that’s already been done? I’m not sure. I don’t want to beat a dead horse. Not to mention I’m about to unwrap so many other things here within the next month, I don’t think I’ll have time to maintain much else. If I ever change my mind, I’ll notify everyone who signed up for the beta.
So my last bit of news is that Resist is no longer a one woman (and sometimes contractors, hence the “we” on the homepage) show. My girlfriend Alana has decided to join me in this endeavor, and what she’ll be doing I can’t tell you without giving away the surprise. Suffice to say she’s a tremendously talented artist and you will soon have the opportunity to enjoy her work in several mediums.
P.S.
I’m loving the new job, and I got a Wii yesterday.
