Time Magazine celebrates the 30th anniversary of punk. 1977 is kind of an arbitrary date, I don’t know if they chose this because of Hilly Kristal’s death. Punk goes back further than that, they obviously didn’t bother listening to Yoko Ono’s Plastic Ono Band, released in 1970 and I believe recorded in 1968. Even Horses was out in 1975.
