Alana bought the new issue of Lemon Magazine the other day. Though it only seems to appear in our local Borders once in a blue moon, it’s always worth every penny. You can’t really tell from the small cover image here, but there’s a pattern embossed over the top. It’s kind of waxy, and gives the magazine an interesting tactile finish. Honestly I couldn’t tell you much about the quality of the writing, because I am so blown away by the art it’s all I can focus on. There is, however, a great interview with Chip Kidd in the issue, accompanied by some awesome photos. Additionally, it includes a flexi picture disc! I didn’t even think there were companies manufacturing flexis in the states still, and I’ve never seen a picture flexi. The magazine also features some great comic illustration.
Kevin Grady, Editor in Chief and Creative Director, sent me an email letting me know the flexi isn’t real, because they are not manufactured anymore. Bummer, but still a clever idea, and they offer the mp3 download.
