Stop Talking About Paul Booth

Tattooer to the butt rock / nu-metal stars, Paul Booth is not the best tattoo artist in the world. He’s not even close to the best tattoo artist in the country. But people (non-tattoo artists) can’t stop talking about him because of his over the top persona, and the “high profile” (MTV culture) clientele he draws. Didn’t he get a show on like MTV12 or something?

Don’t get me wrong Paul Booth is a good artist, but there are a lot of people far better. They just don’t get as much attention because they don’t decorate their studios as a dungeon and do Giger tattoos on masked bands. He seems to focus less on tattoos and more on entertainment. Could this be why so many of the artists at his shop jumped ship recently? If anything I think he does more of a disservice to the industry by perpetuating so many negative stereotypes artists are working hard to break down. I attempted to comment about this in an article I came across today, but the CAPTCHA that wouldn’t load in conjunction with the video prevented me from doing so.
