CNN Can’t Be Bothered With Favicons

CNN

Instead they’re still using the WordPress favicon in their blogs area. It’s surprising for me to see such a high traffic site choose a blogging platform instead of a full featured CMS. I presume they’re using some other CMS for the rest of the site, so it’s bizarre they’d deviate for a sub-section. I guess that just speaks to the power of WordPress. Neglecting favicons is a big peeve of mine, and tells me a designer is lazy.

If I’m not mistaken, their blogs are hosted with Wordpress.com VIP. That means they don’t have control over their favicon, like every other Wordpress.com user. At least they aren’t stuck with one of the crappy themes :P

Wow, it’s so bizarre to me that a company with resources like CNN can’t handle hosting their own blogs. Thanks for the insight :)
