Results from A List Apart’s Web Design Survey 2007 have been published. While I applaud their efforts to gain some understanding of the industry, I have to believe the results are a little skewed. Think about what kinds of web professionals are more likely to be familiar with the A List Apart folks. Then think about the “professionals” running on FrontPage 97. As much as we dislike it, they still suck up a lot of our business. I look forward to seeing how they refine this survey next year.

I’m really looking forward to next year’s too. We did our best to try and get this thing spread far and wide over our industry, so I’m hoping that it doesn’t just represent a small contingent of us. Either way, with something like this, you’ve got to start somewhere.
Yeah I think this was a great start, it really shows how much work you put into it! I can’t wait to look at it at home in preview instead of my crappy adobe browser plugin on my work computer. Never have I been so excited to look at bar graphs and pie charts
I’d also love to see more detailed information about educational backgrounds. For example, did the people with relevant degrees have a BS in computer science or a BFA in illustration, etc.
These results give pretty amazing insight into how diverse the industry really is.
