Today is World Usability Day
Today marks the second year of World Usability Day. From Usability News:
World Usability Day was founded in 2005 with a mission to increase the public’s awareness of the need to make the services and products important to human life easier to access and simpler to use. Global issues such as healthcare, education and government are addressed through expert forums, exhibits, events and initiatives in numerous locations throughout the world.
NEOUPA has a great free event going on tonight. This year’s focus is on healthcare, speakers will be talking about work flows, usability testing, and usability in medical equipment. It was actually only in the last two weeks I became aware of this organization. I’m kind of embarrassed because it looks like an awesome resource, some of their past meetings have included IBM’s UX team, web 2.0 design patterns, and email usability.
Usernomics has additional thoughts on this year’s focus. Find an event in your area at the World Usability Day website.
