Busy Busy Busy

Though is was only four days, this week has been hectic. It’s rained the last four Mondays in a row, and the weather has been generally unpleasant so the dogs aren’t getting enough outdoor time. This means Harper (the devilish one on the right whose fur is all smooshed to the side of her face because I so rudely awakened her) has successfully eaten the arm other of our living room chair. This is her third chair arm, but I don’t think I’ll be replacing this one, I’m just going to get rid of the damn thing. When she doesn’t get enough exercise she chews everything.
We’re about to launch a new product at the office so I’ve been up to my ears in bugs/fixes/tweaks. I managed to throw my back out, though I’m not sure how it happened as the most strenuous activity I’ve done in a while includes cleaning my house and preparing a turkey. It’s slowly improving but by Wednesday night I could barely move. I’d also like to note they don’t make heating pads like they used to. Alana bought me one (a Sunbeam) and compared to the 70s model my mom had this was slightly less powerful than an easy bake oven. I suspect it could bake a brownie over the course of 3 weeks.
On top of that I’ve been juggling freelance work and two upcoming sort-of-but-not-really speaking engagements. Alana is doing a class for middle to high schoolers at the Akron Art Musuem this Sunday on tattoos; the history of tattoos, the art behind tattoos, and where they stand in popular culture. I anticipate spending Saturday chained to Keynote.
Tuesday the Cleveland Web Standards group meets (even though i really want to go see White Magic), and I promised to give a brief (as in under ten minutes) presentation on the Sliding Doors Technique. So when I’m done with Keynote I’ll be putting together a demo page, because the one project I actually used this on has been neglected/destroyed beyond repair by the client.
Tonight, my friends Insurrect are playing Planes Mistaken For Stars‘ final Ohio date at The Davenport in Parma.
