Some Monday Morning Links
- 23 Songs That Should Never Be Covered Again from the Onion. Cosigned.
- A great visual reference, every cover of No Depression magazine.
- Cleveland Web Association’s State of the Web 2008. Not sure if I’ll be attending or not, haven’t heard many positive things about this organization, and the description is pretty vague marketing copy.
- 24 Ways has 10 Ways to Get Design Approval. My favorite is number 4, not giving clients multiple concepts.
What is more, multiple concepts often cause confusion rather than clarity. It is common for a client to request one element from one design and another from the second. As any designer knows this seldom works.
- Improving Your Process: Sitemaps and Design Preparation. Great article, but it strikes me as odd that anyone calling themselves a professional doesn’t do a sitemap in one of their first steps. The preliminary structure and architecture of your site is it’s spine, without it a site collapses. Who is out there not doing these in the initial process?
- Little Fury, the work of Esther Mun and Tina Chang. See the About Us section for a great flow chart.
