I feel like I’ve updated everything I own. Today I upgraded to WordPress 2.3, updated Mint, several Peppers, updated the iPhone, and replaced my Adobe CS2 & Macromedia 8 Suites with CS3. Surprisingly, it went off without a hitch. If you experienced any outages on the site Saturday, it was due to the maintenance.

I did some light cleaning this evening and installed the Optimal Title plugin, the Google Sitemaps plugin, and cleaned up my archives and category pages. Hopefully if I’m not still sick this weekend I plan to roll out some updates to the site, fixing some of the bugs that come with hacking up a blank WordPress theme. First off, I noticed that if you use the search in the sidebar, the results are returned- in the sidebar. Strange.

I’ve always been wary of advertising on my site, since this blog was never intended to be a means of income. So much of advertising on blogs is sleazy. I chose to implement ads on some of my older entries, because these particular ads are text and custom written to go with the posts. I think since they’re tailored specifically for each entry they’re completely non-obtrusive, and I hope you’ll think so as well. They’ll be up for at least a year, so we’ll see how that goes.
