Not much to post today, I’ve been too busy to stick to a normal writing schedule, but here’s a picture I snapped of Harper last night with my iPhone. Normally if she comes to sit beside me it’s to bite my fingers or lick my pants or something, so this was a rare moment of […]

Halloween 2007

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Halloween has come and gone, pretty uneventfully. We had two giant buckets full of candy and only got about three groups of kids. It was pitiful, our house and one across the street were the only ones handing out treats. Every year it’s less and less. We put Harper in a glow-in-the-dark skeleton t-shirt. Little […]

I Hope Our Next Dog Will Be A Pit Bull

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Alana and I decided a while ago our next dog would either come from an animal shelter, or a breed rescue. Because of her allergies we’re restricted to terriers. I don’t mind since terriers are wonderful dogs, but it does mean we can’t adopt just any dog. (We presently have two wonderful Cairns) Purebred dogs […]

Autumn Trips to the Park

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

In an effort to try and make the most of Fall, Alana and I have been taking the dogs to a lot of fun outdoor activities. Sunday we went back to Bow Wow Beach, and Monday afternoon we visited Kendall Hills in Boston Township / Peninsula. Both were a great chance to try out my […]

On Dog Breeding and Ethics

Monday, September 10th, 2007

It strikes me as curious, that because she’s a feminist she must also innately support an entire cadre of views associated with your “typical lefty.” I don’t really have a comment on Jessica’s […]

Weekend in Columbus

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Friday night I hung out with some friends. Alana tattooed one of them while I had drinks next door. Much guitar hero was played. Saturday I had lunch with my sister and stepdad at Great Lakes. I ate German food. It was gorgeous out so we got to sit on the patio. I received an […]

Bow Wow Beach

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Yesterday Alana and I visited what’s probably the nicest dog park in Northeast Ohio, Bow Wow Beach. Bow Wow Beach is a well fenced dog area within Silver Springs park in Stow. It has a small lake surrounded by grass and a little beach. It’s large enough to accommodate a hundred dogs on a good […]

The Lakewood Dog Park vs. Rocky River

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Dear Rocky River, Only a person with no joy in their heart, a true miser, would try to close a dog park.

Dogs abound

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

I had a dream this afternoon (yes this afternoon, I indulge in a nap every Saturday) wherein we acquired 4 more Cairn Terriers. There were dogs everywhere, it was out of control. One of the dogs was pregnant and had a puppy. I tried listing the new dogs on Craigslist, but Alana pleaded with me not to. The new dogs were better behaved than our old dogs.
